Dental Implants
Are dental implants for me?
This is a question that we get all the time. And if you have a missing tooth, or teeth, the answer usually is, yes.
The first dental implant ever placed, that we know of, was placed in 1965. From that time until today the field of dental implants has exploded. New types of implants, new uses for implants, and new ways to place them have all come about. And today implants are a very common procedure in our office.
Dental implants are good to replace one tooth, multiple teeth, all of your teeth, or to simply hold a loose denture in place a little better. Implants are good for people ages, about, 18 to 118.
Are dental implants safe?
If the medical field can safely and predictably replace your heart, your lungs, your liver and your kidneys then yes replacing a tooth is absolutely safe and predictable.
Does it hurt to get a dental implant?
The numbing process that you go through to get a dental implant is the same as it would be to get a crown prepared or a large filling placed, in most situations. In many cases getting an implant can be much easier, and less traumatic, then having a tooth taken out. It is much simpler of a procedure then most people think.
Do you have any pictures of implants you have done Dr. Ellis?
I sure do.
